- Mr. Lam on the usefulness of a chemistry degree in the pharmaceutical industry
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) is a science-led global healthcare company that researches on and develops vaccines, medicines and healthcare products. We were interested to learn more about working in this leading pharmaceutical company and approached Mr George Lam, Director for Operational Excellence and Sustainability at GSK. Mr Lam had very kindly agreed to share his experiences in the pharmaceutical industry and career advice in this interview.

Mr. Lam had graduated with a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Chemistry from National University of Singapore. He also obtained a MBA degree in International Management from RMIT University and a graduate diploma in sustainable manufacturing from the Singapore Manufacturing Institute. As Director for Operational Excellence and Sustainability at GSK, Mr Lam is responsible for the GSK Production Systems and day-to-day environmental operations.
