Max Tan Jin Hui, current president for NUS ACS Student Chapter, was awarded the ACS Student Leadership Award at the ACS Leadership Institute in Dallas, Texas last week! He was one of 16 students to receive the award and the only recipient from outside the US territories! This award recognizes emerging leaders who have done commendable work in leading chemistry-based activities, particularly in ACS. There, Max attended seminars targeted at developing leadership and also got to network with VIPs in ACS, creating important links for our chapter. Well done Max!

 

This award comes just as our Chapter was also recently featured in ACS' International Student Chapter Spotlight for up-and-coming student chapters, a sign of our considerable progress from humble beginnings in 2014. We would like to thank our chapter advisor A/P Chin Wee Shong, as well as the NUS Department of Chemistry, for their strong support in our chapter activities. We hope to grow from strength to strength, and bring even more exciting events for the NUS chemistry population. Stay tuned!
